Re: Global weather madness
Random facts and thoughts on this thread>>>
Hummm...crazy weather, I'm not sure. I remember in the '70's when I was a kid in Colorado it snowed on the 4th of July. Back then the new Ice Age was coming and the "professionals" at places like Time magazine and Newsweek all thought we were going to DIE! Well we seem to be fine 30 years later, and in fact we a now supposedly warming, well at least that is what the "experts" at Time magazine tell me. Peak oil? Bolagna! In 2006 the oil reserves on Iraq were DOUBLED! Iraq is now second only to Saudi Arabia in oil reserves at something like 110 billion more barrels. So maybe that is why they are arguing amongst themselves? "Me things..." At the current prices, $100+, oil companies can now afford to drill in places that were cost prohibative. Remember the oil companies lost money for the better part of the '90's and 2000's. There are tens of THOUSANDS of abandoned wells in the US. Now they are being bought up and reopened. As technology gets better we find more oil, period. Buying green things will not save the gay whales nor the world, however it may ease your guilty upper-middle class American conscience. Greenies bust me up. "Oh evil consumer, you are the reason the world will die in a fire ball! You drive an SUV, you don't recycle, HOWEVER I, the Great Greenie recycle my Fiji water bottles that were shipped half way across the world, I donated my perfectly good clothing to buy hemp clothing, I traded my VW Micro Bus in for a Prius (wait, that will never happen!) I must have my 1964 bus to prove to the world that I am AWARE (who gives a crap??) My bus leaks oil, blows smoke and gets 17 mpg, but I am GREEN and I am SO aware. Like save Darfor man." Bottomline, there a too many freaking people in the world competing for stuff. Heck India and China have about 35% or so of the population. I say Nuke 'Em. We got plently left from the Cold War. So greenie (I can see the ban and the PMs coming) die greenie, die!!! Do the world a favor and reduce your carbon footprint to ZERO, you could even buy carbon credit for when you are cremated. "peace through superior firepower man"
