Which state in the United States is the farthest east, west and north all at the same time and why?

Alaska would be the state as PM'ed by Bill and the reason would be correct as PM'ed by Mike. The Aleutian Islands, which is part of Alaska, extends across the 180th meridian, which puts it in the eastern hemisphere thus making Alaska the farthest to the east as well.

wow, that was answered quickly! Good job guys! I'll have to wake up earlier from now on to have a shot at these. it was asked and answered before 8am this morning for me.
