Weird Whine after oil change - Yamaha FZ6 Forums - International FZ6 Motorcycle Community Forum

Just wondering if anybody else has experienced this, it showed up just after I did the first oil change at 600mi - a buzz/whine right around 7200-7500rpm. I used a mobil one oil filter and mobil one 5w-40 oil.

Any Ideas?

I think sometimes people are a little oversensitive concerning the noises their bike makes. You changed to a better oil and your bike is running better who knows. But as long as you have oil pressure and no leaks I wouldn't worry.

Did you adjust your chain as well? A tight chain makes the kind of noise you are describing...

nope I haven't done anything to the chain. I hope its just me being OCD about my bike noises. It does drive fine it was just odd because it didn't make this noise before the oil change..

Did you use enough oil? 2.96 qts? Not a smart**s, just putting it out there, GRUMPY

Haha - yeah I did. My brother suggested that too when I told him.

Could it be bad that the label on the oil was turbo diesel?
