First post - footpeg replacements in the uk

Hi there
I've just joined the forum and wanted to say hello, having recently taken delivery of a 2008 Fazer S2 FZ6 in Ocean depth.

So far, the bike is great, but I've already started modding...

Yesterday, I installed the Pazzo levers (black/blue standard length), RG racing bar end protectors, K&N air filter (made quite a difference to the low rev smoothness), and cranked the rear shock pre-load up to 7. The full cowling is on order, as is the 'rear end tidy'.

I don't really like the footpegs and for those of you looking for replacements Oberon Engineering in the UK do cool replacements for 04> FZ6 and Fazers. They look a lot like the R6 pegs. Not got them yet, but I will try and post some pics of them on the bike when they arrive.

Anyway, future plans include replacing the rather tacky looking rear cans and cover with a pair of Stainless Scorpions.

Over the winter I plan to change the rear shock to Ohlins, and do the Race Tech spring mod + fork oil change on the front.

Nice mods, it would be nice if you can post some pictures.
Question: by setting the rear shock to 7 did you notice the rear end rising a bit?
I really want to raise mines but I saw no difference by adjusting the rear shock.
Cheers.

Welcome to another UK memeber.
Great choice on the bike, which bit of the UK are you in?

to the forum husker. Sounds like you have a pretty good handle on everything so far. How about a link to a site about the footpegs?

Edit: Nevermind, I found it. FZ6 :: OBERON Performance Motorcycle Parts & Accessories

Re: First post - footpeg replacements in the uk

Hi again
Thanks for the positive feedback - having been a long time lurker, I've learned a lot about the best mods.

The footpegs are billet aluminium and the prices were about £80 sterling for both pairs rider and passenger - so not cheap but they look rock solid.

Jocco - turning the suspension up to 7 didn't seem to affect the unsprung ride height but it doesn't drop so much when I sit on the bike. It really helps the cornering and the bike just feels a lot more planted through the turns. I think it is a really good interim mod until I save up for the Ohlins.

Nelly - I'm near Cambridge.

I'll get the camera out tomorrow and post some pics asap!

Just wondered who you got the air filter from and how much?

Re: First post - footpeg replacements in the uk

Time for a news update - sorry about the delays

Fast blue one - I got the filter off Calsport's ebay shop - it was less than £40.

They delivered it superquick - ordered on a Saturday and it arrived Monday!

I've now installed the new pegs and have just got the Scorpion endpipe on tonight.

Cans tomorrow...and then some pics!
