Cable Lubing?
I'm mechaincally inclined, but am having trouble figuring out a easy way to lube the throttle cable. I pulled the clutch cable today and had it lubed in 15 minutes(start to finish). I looked at the throttle and saw what appeared to be a push pull system. Does anyone have any tips on lubing the throttle cables, or better yet pics of the process. I'm sure I can pull them out and lube them, but am hoping I can learn from others mistakes.

Never done it. But you have my currosity up about it now. I dont think you could go wrong by just pulling the housing apart and lubing the cables. All excess will drain out the left side of the bike just shy of Throttle bodies. You can see it in the gap between the frame and tank I believe.

Re: Cable Lubing?
RTFM...
There are two points to lube on the throttle cable; at the top, and at the bottom. Pop off the cover where you twist it, oil it, and then go down where it comes out to the throttle body. oil it, twist the throttle a few times to work it in. I believe you only NEED to hit the lower area since it is the only part that is exposed. |

Here ya go.
http://www.fz6-forum.com/forum/garag...ng-cables.html (lubing cables) I bought my cable luber a Cycle Gear for about $15.00, works GREAT! Made a very big improvement with the clutch action.
