this will be electrical work. I have tried to get it into the shop for ages to get them to work on it they are backed up solid. Also I dont have tons of money to pay someone to do it as im back to school in sept so need all the extra $$ i can get to keep me fed and clothed while in school. so ive decided to do this myself after researching it a little (if I am able to...there is a twist at the end of this post)
I have purchased these: http://www.kandstech.com/productreleases/newprod114.pdf ![]() ![]() these are the ends if the wires ![]() this is the extra stuff ![]() ![]() and for the rear signal lights this is what my current wiring looks like: ![]() ![]() AND NOW THE TWIST!! my running lights and front turn signals arent working. only my brake light works. there is something wrong with the electrical system after my rear fender and turn signals fell into my rear wheel and all the wires got all jumbled up and shorted something out i think. will i need to replace a central electrical item before i start work on the rest of this? is this a major fix? should i leave this to a pro?? if i can do it myself what will i be doing? replacing the central electrical item that was shorted out or whatever from the jumbling of the wires? and if i can manage to do that, i can figure out the wiring on my own i believe. thanks to all that reply!!

Re: installing rear turn signals? front handlebar turnsignals?
I don't know the extent of the damage based on your description, but first thing's first when there's an electrical issue. Check your fuses.
If the wires were pulled destroyed pretty bad, you can order a replacement electrical line, which should be from the rear connector back. there aren't many lines running back there, as such figuring out which does what shouldn't be too difficult. You've got 3 sets of lines. The one for the brake light is different than the two running to the turn signals. I would assume that since the front signals aren't working, when the issue is from the rear (different sets of plugs to each, so they shouldn't interfere with eachother as far as I know) you most likely blew a fuse (or a few). |
