hello
i`m trying to restore a 2005 fz6 which had a little fall. i already bought brand new fairings, headlight, fairing stay, and windscreen from yamaha. i`ve been trying to find a used cluster to finish the bike but not having any luck finding one.
my question is; are there any other yamaha bikes which use the same cluster? maybe i`d have better luck looking for one from another bike? i priced a new cluster but i`m getting a little over budget. oh yeah i`m still looking for mirrors too if anybody has any. thanks in advance, cory 519 402 2453

PM wavex, he had a set of custom gauges that he bought as universal and wired in and they worked and looked great, maybe he can tall you what they were and how he wired them up.

thanks for the idea. i`m going to try and stick with factory stuff though. anybody know if any other models use the same cluster / speedo assembly? are the other years of fz6 models the same as the 2005? thanks, cory

I'm not sure about 2005, but I know on the 07+ models the fz1 and fz6 have what looks to be the same gauge. I'm going entirely based on pictures I've seen, so I don't know if the wiring is the same, but I would assume so. The R6 might have the same wiring harness....but that's just a complete guess.

from the original (04ish??) to the '06 have the same guage cluster. and should have the same harness. I am fairly sure that only fz harnesses/guages will work.

thanks for the info. wish i could find one. atleast now i know which years were the same. too many unfinished projects and i bought brand new fairings, fairing stay, bars, headlight, and windshield for this one some time ago. it`s almost 3 in the morning and i`m surfing the net looking again. thanks, cory 519 402 2453
