Well really a big fat traffic ticket. I was nailed going 87 in a 60 about 2 months ago and had my court date today. The DA was totally cool, very pretty too. She said, "I assume you don't want this on you record?" Er...yes. "Okay can can do traffic school...oh, wait, no you can't, not at the speed you were going." Great... "The fine is $305.00 but I'll drop it to $50.00, do traffic school and if you don't get any tickets for the next 90 days we'll dismiss the ticket." DEAL! "However if you don't complete everything in time you will receive the ticket and pay a $200.00 fine.

" Okay sounds good to me.

That was it, in and out in 15 minutes. I'm thanking my lucky stars!

That's called Deferred Adjudication when they dismiss the ticket after a short "probation". I have always asked for that first to keep the ticket off my record. Usually it doesn't involve a defensive driving course, but it's totally up to the judge. If he/she denies it, then I'll ask for defensive driving.

i hope i have the same luck for my mandatory court appearance for going 154 in a 100 zone...

if im not theyll take my lisence away for as while and a hefty couple grand ticket....

and it wasnt even on my bike!@!!

Thats what I call JUSTICE, I got pinged doing 36 in a 30 (that was a 40 when I went to work in the morning WTF). I did traffic school

Record in terms of it being on your office driving record. The fees and fines are small potatoes compared to increase in the insurance premium. Also if you X number of tickets in a given period of time they can revoke you license.
