Weird Clunk question

I have a weird clunking sound when i pop the clutch in 1st or 2nd gear. I had a zx6r that had a bent shift fork that made the same type of clunk while accelarating hard in 2nd gear. I hope its not that. A guy at South Bay Motorsports in Chula Vista told me that the R6 motor is notorious for this. Any ideas?

Re: Weird Clunk question

Mine clunks sometimes, but get the RPM up higher and then shift...try that. Also once the bike is warmed up it didn't clunk hard.

My dad's kawi (1992 Nighthawk 750) also does it and he just got new clutch parts.

Re: Weird Clunk question

Im not talking about shifting, im talking about poping the clutch for wheelies.
When I had the ZX I thought that the sprocket was skipping a link on the chain, but it wasnt. So it cant be that b/c my bike has only 2600 miles on it

Re: Weird Clunk question

not having a slipper clutch may be part of the clunk sound you have on the 'drops'
