Feels Very Loose

That's the best explaination I can come up with. I've been riding the FZ for 2months now, and I think it's tire pressure related. I have gone to the recommended pressure for a someone 198lbs so that's 36F 42R. Now when going really no more than 80kph besides the crazy wind buffeting the bike seems to get shoved all over the place. I'm lose and taking the blast no problem when it hits. But like I said it almost feels like the bike is going over. I have 3000km on my new Battleaxes and they are a far cry better than the stock Dunlops.

Any thoughts... back to the not so fat guy pressure? I may give it a go and see. Just wanted some feedback from others.

Thanks

JB

Re: Feels Very Loose

It could be the buffeting you are feeling. Mine seems to hit me from both sides and makes me look like I'm drunk. What happens when you tuck down?

Re: Feels Very Loose

when i had too much pressure in my tires i had the same problem. drop it about 2-3 psi on both tires and see how it rides.

Re: Feels Very Loose

In a Tuck its better but the cross wind still feels like the front of the bike is going to take off. The back end likes to wiggle too but not as bad in the tuck.

I am going to give the pressure a shot.

Thanks for the replies!

Re: Feels Very Loose

I'd recommend going down in the rear to 36-38 max, also loosen up a little on your grip, that sometimes seems to help. Maybe sit forward a little, grip the tank firmly with your knees, of course you may already be doing the aforementioned, just my two worth, good luck

I could be wrong on the tire pressure, however I have in the past started a little low then did incremental increases from there, you'd be surprised how much difference a pound or two can make...

Re: Feels Very Loose

I do all the things you mentioned. I'm going back to the 33F 36R where I started with the new rubber and see if that increases the conformt level in the wind. I'm sure the PUIG DB I put on has amplifed the issues after reading the post on the smaller windscreen peaked my interest. I cut down my stock one and will try that as well after the tire part is sorted.

Thanks Again!
