Rear seat cowl

Just curious if anyone could share how these attach? Looks like a screw on each side. Not sure where they are screwing into. Is that the only two attaching points?

Re: Rear seat cowl

It looks pretty cool if it were easily removable for those times when a passenger rides.

Re: Rear seat cowl

Raid has that exact same seat cowl. Those 2 screws are the only ones holding the cowl in place, besides the slides under the grabrails. It comes with a bracket that allows the screws to work.

I got a chance to try the cowl out! The best thing about it is the backrest, because it helps you walk the bike backwards.

Re: Rear seat cowl

Elm is right. The rear has a "C" in each side that slides into the pillion grab rails and is padded to protect the paint. Then there is a bracket that is mounted under the seat that exposes two tabs for the screws you see.

Re: Rear seat cowl

i was wondering if anyone had the connections personally or via a friend, that could get a group buy for the cowl. Im sure someone somewhere is able to put this together and im sure there would be enough people to do it. The only thing would be to get different colors, although the faster blue would make the slow red ones go a little bit faster but not as fast as all blue, obviously just a thought

I would be interested in something like that. But I'm NOT putting a slow red cowl on my faster blue bike

Re: Rear seat cowl

Best looking seat cowl of them all i reckon...have been doing a bit of searching for a best price on one of these TCP seat cowls for a couple of days now. If anyone knows of a great price online, would love to get the link.

+1000. You could ask me too. :P

Also +1 on the Seat Cowl, I've had mine since April and I cant imagine my bike without it anymore. It gives the FZ a much sportier appearance and I've got nothing but compliments for it. Its a little pricey but a must have IMHO.

Only thing I'd recommend is keeping an allen wrench in your jacket pocket so that you can remove the cowl if out and about. You cant get under the seat with the cowl installed. Also no storage is available with the cowl so dont expect that.
