Painting Stock Windshield to Light Smoked
Hi Guys,
I know many people have painted their stock windshield instead of buying the Puig and I am looking to do the same. In short, any advice on how to prep and paint would be appreciated. Also, has anyone been able to replicate the light-smoked look versus the dark-smoked look on the stock screen? Thanks, Rob (The Hebrew Hammer)

Re: Painting Stock Windshield to Light Smoked
As far as painting it there's a few threads on SBN you'll find if you search.
Like this one As far as tinting it, I've heard that car window tint (if you can get it to conform to the windshield) won't work as the adhesive on the tint will make the plastic of the windshield look bad after a while. You could try the spray-on tint the guy from the SBN thread above used on his turn signal lenses - I've had good results with it on car brake lenses using multiple light coats and I wouldn't think our windshield would be too much different. |

Re: Painting Stock Windshield to Light Smoked
Yeah, thanks for the link. I know others have used krylon black plastic paint with good success. No one has talked about doing a light smoked look this way though and was just wondering if it's possible.
