Failed exhaust mod!
so I attempted to drill a hole in my exhaust as done by other members on this forum, it sucks. but the problem isn't with bad sound, the problem is that there was no change at all. I went out and spent $13 on a 12 inch drill bit and drilled two holes down in each can. I used a 3/8 drill bit. I have a 2007 fz6 and i just want louder exhaust to hold me over until I can afford new slip-ons. I know it wouldn't sound good, but its certainly better than the non-existant sound you get stock. does anyone know if I just screwed up or is there something different about the 07's.

Well if you know for sure that you'll be getting slip-ons,then drill a few holes in the pipe before the muffler,it worked for me till I built my own exhaust kit.

Re: Failed exhaust mod!
so I drilled some more holes in the can bringing me to 3, 3/8 holes in each can. I finally noticed a difference, but very disappointing. I know that it is a cheap mod but I expected it to be a little louder. I am glad that it doesn't sound really bad though, guess I gotta take what I can get. thanks for all the advise. does anyone know of any cheap slip-ons that sound ok?

Re: Failed exhaust mod!
I have an 07 and I made mine look like swiss cheese I put so many holes in it, I also cleared out the cat and, I kid you not, it sounds exactly like it did the day I drove it off the lot. I think the mufflers are designed differently on the 07 than, say, the 04-06's.
