Yellow Highbeam

Hey guys,

So I was just poking around and seeing all the HID and xenon mods and what have you. Has anyone ever put a yellow high-beam bulb in their socket? Would it help to see better at night in a dark space since yellow provides more 3-D appearance and then combined with the regular light it would be a mix.

anyways...thoughts?

or whatever... don't hate, but it was an impulse thought and post!

Re: Yellow Highbeam

Well thats what I wanted too. I looked and looked and could never find a H4 yellow. I do have a purple/blue Piaa high/low beam, and a Nokya extreme Yellow lowbeam. It is the most yellow you can get. They come two to a pack on ebay 19.99 plus 5 or so shipping.
2500 degrees kelvin. Yes people notice them. Very very yellow.

The last pic is my new headlight and the pic is sideways. You get the idea.

Re: Yellow Highbeam

i have the low beam as an HID and the high is the stock halogen, which looks pretty yellow in comparison, seems to work well, but i will most likely go with the HID high as well sooner or later.

How did you do the HID low beam? Is it just simply switching out a bulb or do I have to rewire things?

I like wrightme's pics and setup...I might go with it

Re: Yellow Highbeam

HID is a waste and dangerous as hell is not properly retrofitted. You need a real kit complete with the proper projector, otherwise all you do is throw glare. If anyone wants more information on how to properly select an HID kit, I'd be glad to post some information.

And thanks Wright, that's a great setup, have to look more into that..

Which Piaa is it? I'm looking at Kragen online and see a few choices, but this is the one I see...is this it?
PIAA Bulb: 12V - H4; Wattage - 55/60W = 100/110W, 3800K; 1 Per Package

EDIT: *I'd love to do this mod tonight, since I'm road tripping tomorrow evening for 400 miles mostly in the dark!

Re: Yellow Highbeam

found this article...not really for the same purpose (he did it to be different, not for better visibility at night)

Yellow Motorcycle Light Bulbs - webBikeWorld

I'm going to stop by Kragen after work today and get the PIAA bulb and see if they carry something yellow that it suitable...if they suck for my ride, then I'll return them.
