Carbon Wheels!
Well i have a bit of a taste for the exotic, and have been thinking....Carbon Fibre Wheels!, now they would be a nice addition to the FZ6!
I have searched on the net for these, and there are many options out there. Has anyone investigated this option? Has anyone got some Carbon Fibre wheels? if so, what brand, and what are they like? Does anyone know of a really good price on Carbon Wheels? Just thought i would throw this out there, and see what i get back???

Re: Carbon Wheels!
I've never seen any of those before, but would be curious of the longevity and structural integrity.

Re: Carbon Wheels!
Well, they are gonna cost about 2/3 the price of your bike, between 3000 to 3500. They do add an unmatched level of performance though. Less unsprung mass, less gyroscopic action (i.e. better handling, cornering), less total mass (i.e. better acceleration). I read an article in Cylce World but I cant remember which issue or I would send it to you. It seems like I remember them saying there was no better single modification that would improve handling as much as this. Keep us posted on your decision.

Re: Carbon Wheels!
You should be able to sell your OEM wheels to recover a good chuck of the purchase price. If you're gonna pimp the bike that much, might as well get a steering damper and aluminum rear sprocket.

Re: Carbon Wheels!
wow found a few of these wheels and they would be so awsome, but i coulnt justify that much for them b/c thats as much as wat i paid for mine, but these things would be so bad, but if someone could use the single rotor buell brakes then this would make the total weight of the wheels like nothing.

As for the handling, bike is in having racetech springs, gold valve emulators, and some braking wave discs put on it now. As well, as a Ohlins rear shock, so the idea behind considering this purchase, was to continue on the theme of getting the best possible set up for handling, as well as the ultimate "bling" factor. Quote:
As for a steering damper, i have been casually looking, but thought i may wait to see how my bike is after this round of mods...would not get one just for bling, would only get a steering damper if the bike started getting shaky at speed, etc. I would get some decent 6 pot or 4 pot Brake calipers for the front brakes if i could find some that fit, before a steering damper as my 06 2 pots are quite "wooden", even with braided lines. Am hoping that the Braking Wave discs, and Ferodo sintered pads, that are going on at the moment, will help a bit here too. Will change to higher spec Sprockets when my rear sprocket & chain start getting a bit long in the tooth, will do a 520 conversion, with most probably some AFAM sprockets, but for now, whilst bike is in for it's suspension mods, etc, i am having a Vortex 14 tooth front sprocket fitted, that should make things very interesting at take off!

Re: Carbon Wheels!
Wolfman I'd love to see a pair of these on your ride. 5.8 lbs for the front and 11.1 for the rear. NICE!
