New guy...

Hello all! I'm Tim from Green Bay, WI. I picked up an '07 FZ6 (apparently the slower red one) in July. So I far I couldn't be happier. Glad I found this site, I'm looking forward to picking your brains a bit.

I'll put some pics up shortly.

First thing, I'm looking at some T-Rex frame sliders out of Dallas, TX. Anyone know anything about em?

Re: New guy...

1) Never admit the red is slower!! It just feeds their egos
2) Welcome!!! Looking forward to seeing your pictures
3) Now for the Red vs Blue debate. A study was conducted using video games to see if the color of the teams (red vs blue) has any effect on the outcome.

"There are no functional differences between the two other than hue, leading most to assume that neither team would have any sort of unfair advantage over the other.

Not so fast. Researchers at the University of Copenhagen in Denmark found that the red team won 55% of the matches.

Rather than chalking that up to dumb luck, the scientists behind the study believe it has more to do with the inherent qualities of red as a psychological distractor and a natural signal of male dominance, a thought echoed in a 2005 study linking the color to enhanced performance in real-life sports."

(Full Article)

So while it has yet to be determined if Blue is truely faster it has been proven that Red is a natural sign of male dominance. Of course I still have respect for all the ladies riding their Blues.

Re: New guy...

to the board! As for having a red (slower) bike, no worries. Those of us with the Blue (faster) bikes will not treat you with contempt. A little pity, maybe, but not contempt.

Seriously, though. The reds are fantastic looking bikes. Glad that you have found your way here. There is a lot of information on this site. I'm sure you'll learn a lot, and hopefully share some of your experiences.

Congrats on the new bike.

X

Ok, they're kind s****y pics, but here's a couple. It would probably look prettier if I spent less time riding and more time cleaning.

That only proves that RED is more aggressive and not faster. Blue is still far and away the fastest.

First off:
Secondly, T-Rex sliders look pretty good - they have an aluminum insert in them to tighten down on like the much more expensive ones.
