R6 bar ends and front foot pegs (with pictures)
I decided to change the bar ends on the FZ6 as IMO the OEM bar ends are hideous. I decided on the R&G bar ends as these were the only aftermarket bar ends the dealer had in stock and they looked ok in the packaging. Rushed home and fitted the R&G bar ends and gosh, the handlebars looked even worse; with the two stainless globs on each end.

Went back to the dealer and refunded. So what now! Looked around the showroom at the various options on show and decided on the R6 bar ends. As luck would have it the dealer happened to have two in stock so I borrowed them.

What now, how am I going to make the R6 bar ends fit? Removed the OEM bar ends and machined the rocket head off so that I could retain the threaded portion that screws into the bar. Drilled and tapped the threaded insert and fitted the R6 bar end using a M6 stainless cap screw.

Very happy with the end product, and before you ask, no bar vibrations!!!







Fitted R6 foot pegs at the same time, as in IMO the OEM foot pegs belong on a peewee. Waiting for the R6 springs that are on backorder.

Just replaced the pegs, had to shim them a little, you might be able to see the stainless washer behind the peg. Waiting for the R6 peg spring on the LHS.

I like the foot pegs and the bar ends look clean.

Do you know the weight of those R6 bar ends compared to the FZ6 bar ends? They look like they must be lighter.
