Re: 2009 Yamaha FZ6R: Versatility Meets Performance
Looks great....but....read the specs....41mm forks???? a fully non-adjustable suspension, again, and the old style brakes. "Our" bike is much better and a better value. The new one looks to compete against the Ninja 650. It's porky too, 467 vs 410.
Looks nice but I'll pass.

Re: 2009 Yamaha FZ6R: Versatility Meets Performance
Not quite what i expected....thought they would sharpen it up a bit more....lets hope the naked version is a bit more exciting, but once again low spec running gear. Thought that they might try and go down a similar road to Triumph, and their very sharp focussed Street Triple.
Oh well, at least i now feel comfortable with all the time & money i have spent modding my FZ6 to handle, stop & go, like a Sportsbike, with the comfort & versatility of the FZ6 seating position for both rider & passenger.

It looks really sweet but I wasn't too impressed with the specs...

Re: 2009 Yamaha FZ6R: Versatility Meets Performance
I am in love...looks great...weight is not that different - they are quoting wet weight. Ours is 459 lbs wet vs 467. Engine sounds like was totally reworked for better low/midrange.
I see a direct competitor to the GSX650F and the Ninja 650 I see they are also keeping the FZ6. The new Yamaha is called XJ6 Diversion in Europe.

Re: 2009 Yamaha FZ6R: Versatility Meets Performance
so it looks like there will be 2 FZ6's then huh? the 09 FZ6 and FZ6R. Will both be available in the US here? i prefer the more naked look to be honest. hey, it also went up almost 300 bucks.
