Bar Risers

Well I finally purchased a set of bar risers through twistedthrottle.com and what a difference in riding. Because I'm sitting almost vertical it feels like I have more control of the bike. Riding is alittle more comfortable. I'm not reaching as far for the handle bars so it takes away the strain from my back and shoulders. And the most important thing I like about these bar risers is that my fingers don't go numb hardly at all. It was a good investment.

Which risers did you buy? Are you still using the stock bars?

Re: Bar Risers

I'm anxiously wating to be well enough again to ride my FZ6, in order to find out if I can still reach the handlebars ok without straining my "new" back with its Titanium Upgrades. If it is a bit of a strain, I'll have to get a 1" up and 1" back riser, I guess. I'm 5'8" tall and my arms are pretty much extended straight when I'm riding, so I've been considering a riser in any case.
I agree...we need pictures here.

Re: Bar Risers

Here's a pic of mine - Mowtech Risers from Twisted Throttle.
I chose the black over the off-color silver that didn't match the rest of the silver.
Besides my rig is part black anyway. Most just order the silver that they offer.

Re: Bar Risers

Are any modifications to clutch/brake cable length necessary?

No, but you have to undue the zip-tie that holds the brake line next to the strut & unbolt it from the bracket further down. Then just re-tie another zip-tie to the bracket to hold the brike line from flopping around. I also undid the zip-tie on the wire bundle from the sw. on the left cause at full rt. turn of the bars it starts to crank on that wire bundle. The only time you crank it full is in the garage or parking anyway. I'll hop out to the garage right now & see if I did anything else (& see if I'm recalling the process correctly).
Yep, that's it.
Good luck & I really like the product.
