Dual Hi/Lo beam mod done
Hey guys,
Ifinally did the Dual Hi/Lo beam mod today. I took Fred's advice and made a new connector for the moded bulb. I can take it back to stock in 2 minutes with the stock harness. It was really easy, and with a 3 dollar plug and $7 light I was don. I simply found the wires that were running to the H4 bulb on the right side and hooked them up to the new plug. Here is a short clip. " target="_blank">YouTube - FZ6 Dual HI/LO mod

Re: Dual Hi/Lo beam mod done
I'm looking for this one, I keep reading about having to do X Y and Z and it takes hours etc. I'm looking for a simple reliable easy way that someone like me (oil change, minor wiring) can do!!!

Nice job ant_mb! Thanks!
So, you simply spliced in a auxilliary plug and can swap back and forth with bulbs? What about the spacer folks talk about? Did you make one of those too? The only thing is, it nearly drowns out the cool pod lights. Maybe different color bulbs in the pods?

Re: Dual Hi/Lo beam mod done
Eric, I did make a spacer and trimmed the bulb. They were both required to get the light to fit, and I made mine out of a piece of plastic. I tapped into the wiring harness on the left side of the faring and found the wires going to the other light. I used 3 quick connects, and didn't even have to cut a wire.

Re: Dual Hi/Lo beam mod done
Things you need
1. H4 bulb 2. 3 of these 3. A universal H4 connector. The one I bought from Advanced was under $3.00 and the wires were long enough that i didn't have to extend them. 4. you must have done the dual headlight mod. It really easy guys. You simply locate the wiring harness on the left side of the bike, the side your working on. All the wires are color coded so you simply find the wires that are coming from the other headlight. You then connect them to the new harness the the same way they are connected to the other side. If the black wire is on the top prong, then make sure you wire it to the top prong of the new harness. You will need to read over this (Real Head Lamp Modification ,Making a H4 bulb fit into a H7 socket) thread to see how to mod the H4 light and make it fit the H7 socket.
