Nice Rides & Roads to ride in Oz!...post your pics

Hey everyone, have noticed lots of people from other countries have posted photo's of where they ride, the places they have been on their FZ6's, or other bikes, etc.

Thought it might be a good idea to start something with all of us Aussie's in this forum.

We have lots of very unique scenery in Australia, and it would be good inspiration for us to all to see places that we might be able to ride to on our bike in the future, or find out about other nice roads etc.

So feel free to use this thread to post photo's of the places you have been, and roads that you ride.

I will get things started...

Below is Belair Road, a lovely piece of well maintained road that goes from whee i live inthe Hills of Adelaide, down to the City 7 surrounding suburbs. Is about 8km's long, and has some lovely corners, a mix of open sweepers, quick switch backs, and very tight radius stuff, as it winds down through the start of the Adelaide Hills. Have also posted a couple of shots of the view of the city & suburbs of Adelaide from this road.

I use this road every day, to ride from home to work , and my sons school, etc, in the City. Makes the everyday commute a little less boring.

It is only one lane wide, there is hardly ever much traffic on it, as there is a much quicker route very close by, and there are only 2 roads that enter at a T junction, the whole length, and very few drive way's from residences, so it is reasonably safe from mad cagers.

Best part is, you can enjoy the road , without having to ride above the speed limit.

So post away people, or make sure you take your camera on your next ride, and show the world what they are missing!

We have a quite a few roads up here that would match the Adelaide hills im sure , i have been through the hills in a truck a few times and dont get me wrong they are awesome but you dont have Mt Glorious its an Aussie bike mecca , i think that 97 corners in 32k's is freakin' wicked...

We have 2 pretty "famous" roads, one is Lobethal Road, the other more infamous is The Gorge Road, ,many biker has unfortuneatly died racing on this road.

I have driven through the Hinterland area near the Gold Coast, through to Byron Bay, and there are some pretty nice roads up there, i would like to ride.

But Mt Glorious definitely sounds like it's well worth a visit...or three! Would love to see some photo's of it!

Yes, unfortuneatly it's usually young guys on very fast bikes that they dont fully understand, or know how to ride properly, they go way too fast, and dont leave a margin for error...We had one down on the weekend, has been a few this year...

Anyway, on a brighter note, this thread could be cool if we all start posting pics, like a directory of decent Aussie bike roads.

Yup, I'm in. Wikkid idea for a thread. Might have to do a video one as well I reckon. Can't wait to see some of the roads that pop up here and there. I've lived everywhere but Tassie and W.A in Aust and seen some awesome roads From Cunninham's gap to the road out past Caves beach from Swansea (although I think is a dual carriageway now) and some Blue Mountains stuff in New South Wales and Act and places like Arthurs seat in Vic. Way Cool Wolf.
Cheers
Mike
