Re: New stuff on it's way - Braking Wave Discs, Racetech Springs & Emulators, Ohlins Rear Shock, TB ti's!
I'm very keen on hearing a review of the race tech fork bits. That's the route I was planning on going.

In Australia at least, it is a lot cheaper than going down the R6 fork mod. You still get better performance, with springs chosen for your weight, and some adjustability via the Gold valve emulators, oh and i am getting it all set up by someone who is very experienced with suspension...should'nt be long now, Ohlins shock for rear has apparently been cleared by customs in Australia, so that cant be far away.

Yep - waiting for the pics and the you tube vid for the exhaust sound. Have the same colour FZN as you and can see the mods as if they were on my bike!

Re: New stuff on it's way - Braking Wave Discs, Racetech Springs & Emulators, Ohlins Rear Shock, TB ti's!
Reading about all the toys and parts makes me all excited, and they're not even for me!! I'm sure it will be a blast to spend time putting everything together, at least it always is for me. On most projects, just tearing something apart and putting it back together is 90% of the fun! The other 10% is playing around, "testing" and sporting your s***!
![]() I'm curious about the front suspension mod your doing. I've been looking into that and would like to get your feedback when you get it all done! Have fun!! |

Agree about the fun of doing mods yourself, hence the reasons wht i am going to fit the Two Brothers Pipes when they arrive...the Mechanic at the shop, who is doing the brake & suspension mods, is not having all the fun! In fact, if i thought i could pull off the suspension mods myself, i would do them. But in this case, i want maximum bang for my quite significant $$$ investment, and what it set up as well as possible, and as i have said before, the guy doing my nike comes highly recommended by about 3 independant sources! Took the shock in to the shop to show him today, and he got all glassy eyed, and started making sexually suggestive remarks towards the shock! lol...lets hope that unhealthy obsession for bike bits works in my favour during the install! Here's a couple of pic's of my new "Baby"! Oh and i included one of the box it came in, cause i am a sucker for nice packaging! (it even had Ohlins stamped into the foam packaging inside the Box!)this box held up remarkably well on it's journey from the US, to Australia!

Re: New stuff on it's way - Braking Wave Discs, Racetech Springs & Emulators, Ohlins Rear Shock, TB ti's!
Well the bike went in today for the front suspensions mods, re-spray of front forks (satin black), brake discs, pads, rear shock, levers, and TB Ti's....and the subsequent trip back to the dyno for a re-tune!
Will be way for well over a week, have gone into withdrawal already! charging the battery on my old Ducati 500 Pantah now, the ol' girl is back on commuter duties for a week. Man is my FZ6 gonna feel weird when i get back on it, especially after spending a week on the Duc, plus all my mods....NEW BIKE feeling again...best part about doing mods, each time you do a significant one, the improvement makes it all feel brand new! Oh yeah, and Hellgate, i cant wait for the report on my emulators as well, from the feedback i have recieved from others, it seems that they make a big difference, would love to be able to run a FZ6 with my mods, up against an fz6 with the R6 forks, both set up for my weight, preferences, etc...would be interesting to see how they stack up against each other for arguements sake???
