Sherman Pass Tour

Not on my FZ6 but still riding Yamaha! We did this ride over Halloween. Starting near Colfax,Ca headed south in the Sierra Nevada Mts.

Tom is on the Red Beamer and did this report so I posted it on the FJR forum and here for fun.

As much as I enjoy riding my 600, we did 1200 miles in 3 days in a lot of chilly foul weather, wind and rain. Would have been brutal on a FZ6.

Love my Yamaha FJR for long distance and weather protection. Of course heated grips and vest, V Strom hand guards and tupperware to hide behind helps.

Enjoy, Doug

Nice journal. I have ridden Sherman Pass a few times but have not been to Death Valley yet. A friend of mine say it is ideal in February, so it's on my itinerary for 09.

Re: Sherman Pass Tour

Death Valley in Nov-Feb is the Bomb! Unlike it's name I think it is one of the most beautiful places on the planet. Absolutly amazing. Be prepared for long distance as it is a huge park. Go in from Lone Pine if you can.
