So what's your favorite beer?
This question came up on a musician's forum I'm active on, and generated a lot of fun, even heated debate, so let's do it here too!
I actually drink mostly 3.2 beer! Anything stronger and only the state-run liquor stores here in Utah can sell it, and the "sin" tax goes up obscenely; something that costs $6.00/six-pack in the grocery store costs $10.00/six in the full-strength, liquor-store-only version! (being a lightweight has its advantages) Anyway, my favorite is a beer called Kronenbourg, from the Alsace region of France. This area has shuttled between control of France and Germany over the centuries, which explains its Germanic name. I can't get it here in Utah and its not common elsewhere, haven't had one in ten years or so (if you can get it in your area I'd be happy to come visit, I'll buy! )Otherwise, I love Sam Adams lager, Dos Equus Dark (Mexican), Newcastle Brown Ale, the occasional Guiness, and if I'm feeling flush, Negro Modelo. What are your favorites? |

Favorite? I would have to give the Irish answer... FREE!
![]() Now if I am buying, normally Coors Light. Otherwise any ale or stout will do me just fine, I am in love with Black and Tans, Guiness over Bass or Smithwicks |

Top 3 for me, all from CA microbrewers:
1- Russian River Brewing "Pliny the Elder", best IPA I've ever had. 2- Port Brewing "Carlsbad Chronic" amber ale. 3- Stone Brewing "Ruination" IPA Excuse the "beer snob" tone of this reply. I know these aren't readily available outside of California, but this state has one of the strongest microbrew communities in the country. If I had to pick a single common beer available across throughout the US it would be Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. |
