The ancient art of sledging

OK fellas, its only a week away.
So lets get it on so to speak (obviously forum rules apply).

I would like to dedicate this thread to that ancient art. May the best team win.

Good luck fellas

Nelly

Re: The ancient art of sledging

Isn't sledging where a dog walks along using it's front feet whilst dragging it's bum on the ground to give it's arse a good itch?

Re: The ancient art of sledging

Huh - had to google that one!

Here is what I got: Sledging is a term used in cricket to describe the practice whereby some players seek to gain an advantage by insulting or verbally intimidating the opposing batsman. The purpose is to try to weaken the opponent's concentration, thereby causing him to make mistakes or underperform. It can be effective because the batsman stands within hearing range of the bowler and certain close fielders; and vice-versa. The insults may be direct or feature in conversations among fielders designed to be overheard.

Hmm... Is this right Nelly?

Re: The ancient art of sledging

No, it's definately this:

sledging

Sledging or “Butt Skiddies” is the term given to the act a dog carries out when it has itchy hindquarters, mainly from worms. The act involves the dog lifting its hind legs above its shoulders and dragging it’s rump along the ground with its forepaws.
