My question to you guys (I am a rookie):
How hard is it to install those bad boys? Is it that easy? Or should I go to a mechanic? How much will a mechanic charge me?

Thanks a lot

I am a very demoralised man and have been since I came over to the isle of man about 2 months ago. The source of my agony is that I am on this great island but not with my bike. And to add insult to injury my beloved has been chained to some rotting steel frame so that its not nicked.

I'd have loved to follow the TT route. But instead I am stuck in Douglas with no where to go unless if I have to get on the bus or hire a car. But I can't bring myself to do that. So I am hoping that next year I can make it over here and join one of the greatest shows on earth The Isle of Man TT.

Then I pray I will be coming with my Black Beauty (unless if we get nicely priced upgrades from Yamaha), kicking out all its horses.

Hi guys I love this site and it seems to be one of the best.
I sold my virago 250 after a few months and bought a new FZ6S 4 months ago, took a bit of guts not being on a bike for 40 years. Just did my 1000 km service all on my own including the carby synchronizing, slipped a motorcycle mechanic $20 and got my book stamped after he checked the bike out ,I saved over $200 so the carby motion pro synchronizer has paid for itself and still $110 in front.
Went to Bangkok 2 months ago, took my princess on a holiday, and in the MBK shopping center I got stickers made for my bike in a few minutes.
Do they look ok?
Oh yes my tires look shiny in the photos, I paint them with (COCA-COLA) that was left open and had gone flat, you don't loose any grip on the road but if matt is what you like you will have to use a rag instead of a brush.
I paint them all over, the road removes the shine on the tread .Easy to remove, just wash with water.CHEAP AND SAFE TIRE BLACK!
Hope you like the photos, Regards to all.

Well I finally sold my 1981 Honda CX500. It will be missed, greatly.

This bike, as most all of my bikes have been, barely ran when purchased. About $250 in a carb kit and jets got it running smoothly. It had 28,000 miles on it the day it rolled into my garage. Over various winters the bike had been completely disassembled and the frame was repainted, new timing chain & tensioner/guides, water pump "mechanical" seal, stator, and many other various seals and gaskets. I was rewarded after all of this work with nary a single problem, ever. Even being caught in flash floods w/ tornadoes never even caused a stumble. Even despite running just 2000 rpm shy of redline at interstate speeds (this bike was built during the national double nickel speed limit) it never used any oil, or complained of long, hard days on the interstate.

This bike was sold with just shy of 62,000 miles on it. The lucky buyer turned out to be my cousin, so I will still get to see it. I also know this bike will in caring hands and receive proper care.

So I raise my glass to my first big bike, you are gone, but not forgotten.

I was wondering if anyone could offer some advice on a storage solution other than a top box?

My basic requirements are to carry odd bits and pieces, a helmet on occasion and security, of course.

I've been looking into tail packs and am considering the Kriega US20, or the Oxford Humpback.

I'd be very interested to read any suggestions that you could offer?

Hi everyone, I just got mine last week and so far (130 miles) everything was happiness until today, took it for a short ride and suddenly out of nowhere just turned off wile waiting in a red light, right after that I couldn't turneit on again, moved to the side of the road, checked temperature, gas, cables and everything that a 130 miles experienced rider can check in a brand new bike, try several times with dealer mechanic on the phone and all that I get is a weird noise coming from like the start box and all my lights turn off and on, if anyone knows or has experienced this, please tell me what to do, I had my wife (how works close there) push me and I turn the motorcycle on on 2nd gear.
embarasing for such a nice bike and new.
Thanks all
