Dyno Time?

Would getting some time on a dyno be worthwhile for a bike with no PC or should I save the money and buy some Galfer brake lines instead?

I'm going to take my off-road bike to get dynoed (sp?) because I know it will help that, but should I take my Fazer along as well?

Re: Dyno Time?

If you plan to do any engine related mods it would be nice of have a baseline dyno sheet to work from. But other than that I don't see a benefit because there isn't anything to adjust without a PC.

I agree the baseline map would be good if you plan some extensive mods but without any adjustability you would just be getting a number and no improvement. but if/when you get a pc then I would def. reccomend the dyno time. and you can still get a baseline then, put on pc and see where you get.

Re: Dyno Time?

I am considering a baseline, completely stock dyno run, but not spending any real money on the dyno until after i get the exhaust and a pcIII so that i can get the bike adjusted.

I will there is a dynotuning shop that brings their dyno to bike night in the summer, $20 per run. This should be close enough for my baseline, then i will start doing things from there, and get them to asctually dyno it when i get the PCIII.

Re: Dyno Time?

Looks like June 12th is the first time they show up... I might talk to them about doing it earlier, i want to get to work on my exhaust as soon as possible but want the baseline to be stock

I agree with you Pete but this just made me think about something. Flash programming can be accomplished to some stock ECU run programs. I am not aware of any for the FZ6 but it can be done with my 2004 Sporty. A recall in 2005 changed the run profile making the cold start and low end operation much better. I think having that base line is a must if you are to know where you want to go and where you started from.
