Trip Planning: Need Route Suggestions Between Fargo, ND & Minneapolis, MN

Hi all...

So I have a wedding to attend in Fargo, ND, at the end of June. Had been debating whether to fly or drive, when it stupidly dawned on me to turn this excursion into a longer motorcycle touring trip of some sort!

I've already decided upon the first leg of my route, which will take me from the Chicagoland area, straight west to Dubuque, IA. From there, I'm going to follow the Mississippi river north, through La Crosse, WI, into Minneapolis, MN. But from there, I'm at a bit of a loss on where to go that would be a bit more scenic, than ole I-94.

Anyone from this general area, been through this area, etc., and can recommend routes?
