FZ6 - Drop of Power When Hot

Hi Guys and Gals

Hope you can help, I have one issue which i bugging me on my 2004 Fazer, when sat in traffic with the clutch pulled in for long periods the engine obvioulsy gets hot - once the engine cooling fan cuts in an dout and i go to pull away there is no power at all the bike just chugs into the cross junction - then then once about half way accross the junction the bike gives me everything...

I just wonder if anyone has experienced anything like this and how they solved it..

Thanks for your help and support to a new biker...

It sounds like the TPS problem.

Do you know if you bike has been recalled and fixed?

Re: FZ6 - Drop of Power When Hot

Thanks for your feedback, i checked to see if the TPS had been changed by checking the VIN and guess what it hasn't been changed since the first recall. So the Yam dealer are ordering the part and then i will take my bike in total price zeroŁ - all under the recall warranty

I hope this fixes the problem and leaves me again to enjoy my great bike over the coming summer...and winter once more

Awesome...

Re: FZ6 - Drop of Power When Hot

glad you found the probable cause so quickly, also check the air filter, if it is clogged then you could notice some power loss that could be accentuated by the fact that hot air is less dense so less burnable air for the same volume of suction.
