Almost Tagged Yesterday - Yamaha FZ6 Forums - International FZ6 Motorcycle Community Forum

As I was leaving Acculign, with my new shiny top clamp on my FZ I came within 18 inches of being T-Boned by a Suburban! I was on the street going about 20 mph and I saw one Suburban stopped at the intersection of the street I was on and a hotel parking lot exit. I see motion out of the corner of my right eye and the 2nd Suburban passes the 1st, doesn't brake at all for the stop sign, I swerve to the left, she (sorry females) is on her cell, crosses the street into another hotel parking lot. She must have been stoned or drunk.

In my younger days I would have followed her and probably done something I would have regreted later. I just rode off thanking my lucky stars that my right leg was okay and still there.

Please be careful everyone and wear your gear in case something you can't control occurs.

I wonder if you had a tank cam and caught it on video the police would ticket them? I'd be much less likey to follow them and beat the p!ss outa them if i knew i could get them fined.

Good question, I don't know. I think you would need positive id of who the driver was.

My biggest fear in Iraq was losing a leg. I am so glad that it didn't happen yesterday.

I would think if you at least got the tags in the video.... idk. If it ever happens to me, i'll be calling my local police to find out exactly what they can do about someting like that.

I would think that you would be able to get them fined, they are on video breaking the law. there are plenty of cases out there where people have been arrested for stuff they put on tape.

Again why I only find women in big SUVs involved. Women should have driving tests every year.

What really get me are the ones thay try to block or otherwise inconvenience motorcycles any way they can. I've seen some drivers do really stoopid stuff just to try and block a bike.
