Steering shakes/wobbles

Hi guys, I did a search but couldn't find any related information.

2006 FZ6, 6000 miles, no mods

I have been noticing a slight wobble in the handle bars when decelerating from freeway speeds right as I slow down through about 50mph. Now I can only sense this on deceleration and only when I have light pressure on the bars from my hands. I am wondering if I need to check the steering head bearings? Possible wheel balance issue? I am not sure where to start...

most probably you need to check your tire pressure. If it isn't up to the specs fix it. Other wise you might need to get the front tire balanced.

Steering head bearings... comon problem...

Get the All Balls (Part number 22-1004) bearings and do the swap, you`ll love it.

This is what the stock will look like when your take them off... scary...

It`s actually the seal that`s crap on the stock ones... but the All Balls are tappered, so they are better anyway

Thanks guys, pressure is set to spec. Wheel weights are still attached (I think all of them,,, its the original tire so I haven't had it balanced cause its always been smooth)

I wondered if the steering head bearing where bad because its only started this year, I didn't notice anything last year when I was riding it.

Note that not all FZ6 bikes have had the bearing problem. I will however say yours does sound like one of those that do. I have had mine apart twice to pack the bearings and hand no problems but others have not been so lucky.
