Tire Pressure?

I did a search but couldnt find a title that matched. Anyway, my question is...what tire pressure do you guys use? The Bikes suggested pressure or the Tire manufacturer's recommended pressure on the tire itself. Car mechanic once told me regarding the same question on a car..."The tire manufacturer knows better what pressure that tire is suited for than the maker of the car." As far as our bikes???? If you have an opinion or fact, on either/or, I would be insterested in hearing it. Thanks
Bart

Re: Tire Pressure?

The figure on the side is a MAXIMUM the tyre can take and shouldn't be used. The manufacturer of the bike will suggest a pressure for the tyre based on handling tests.

What make/model of tires do you have?
I run my OEM Dunlops at 33 front and 36 rear (cold).
Seems to work.

Re: Tire Pressure?

ANSWER: It depends.

You can call the tire mfger and they will suggest a pressure range for your specific tires and the intended use.

Re: Tire Pressure?

+1 on "It Depends".

Some of this has to do with personal preference and I'd suggest you play around with tire pressure to see what you like. Your body weight, the type of riding you do all play a factor. Use less pressure in the front than in the rear though.

I'm 210lbs, 33-36 Pilot Powers

Re: Tire Pressure?

Shouldn't this thread be in the "Tire tech talk" area so that thread can be viewed along with the other tire related question in case another member has a tire question.
