FZ1 your oppinions

side by side the FZ6 and the Fz1 look very similar but its the slight body changes that make the FZ1 in my opinion look rather . . . ugly any one care to agree or disagree?

Well they are 2 different bikes! I like the looks of the FZ6 as well as the FZ1, i dont think they are very similar nor are they very different I have not ridden a FZ1 so cant say much, i've only just sat on it...What i can say is if i ever look to upgrade to a "bigger" bike the FZ1 will have my full attention

truthfully i haven't rode, sat, or even met one in person so my early judgment is based purely on pictures of the beast but as i said before im just not a fan. but who knows maby once i meet one i wont be able to get enough of it

Re: FZ1 your oppinions

Saw one when picking up my '07 FZ. Orange forks didn't take at first but kind of dig them now. Rear plate bracket screams "FE!"

Oooooh, I should stop looking now.

Re: FZ1 your oppinions

fz1's bigger and a touch more aggressive. im 6 foot 3 and from north america. ill let you guys guess which i would pick if i could handle the fz1. but honestly i see both as the same bike, just ones injected with steroids.

i love fizzy. always will. when i am more rider than she can handle (which wont be anytime soon) I will get a superbike extraordinaire to replace my beater of a track bike i expect to own in 2 years time (like an old cbr or somethin). I will always own an fz6. if i crash it to the point of having to buy a new bike, i dont see why id want an fz1 tho....who needs more power for the road? if anything it would just tempt me to go faster than on an fz6. and i go plenty fast on the fz6....which is not very fast at all for ze urban riding

touring ill do on my VFR which i also expect to own within the next 3 years.

and trail riding on a drz400, and adventure touring on a drz650 or a honda.

when im an old fart ill get an fz1 and park it in my living room. just for ****s and giggles.

Re: FZ1 your oppinions

I saw a blue on on the way in to work this morning and it was pretty nice. It looks meaner than the FZ6 that's for sure. At first, I didn't realise it was an FZ1 - I only realised it after I noticed the gold forks in my mirrors.

Re: FZ1 your oppinions

I lke the naked one very much...

I would have to put on an after market exhaust as the standard one is well gross.

Re: FZ1 your oppinions

The Naked FZ1 is lovely. I go down to the dealership just to swoon at it. There aren't many about so it seems to be depreciating less than the FZ6. I'm not a big fan of the fazer version of either but can appreciate the merits of a bikini fairing.

Re: FZ1 your oppinions

I've sat on an FZ1 2006. Let's compare it with the FZ6 2006:

GOOD
-More power
-Nearly the same weight as FZ6
-Better front suspension
-Better brakes
-Better rear swingarm

IN BETWEEN
-Longer wheelbase (+ straight stability, - turning ability)

BAD
-More MONEY (gas, insurance, parts, cost)
-Less comfortable seat (trust me, that seat is UNCOMFORTABLE)
-Visible weld in frame
-Smaller gas tank

CONCLUSION
-Less practicality for more power and quality. If you plan on getting this bike, you might as well go all the way for an R1 or something.

I was eyeing up a blue one only yesterday when I was getting some chain lube (gel ). I had the misses with me and she dragged me away.
