Kickstand Bolts

I came about 'one more turn' close to losing one of the bolts out of my kickstand today (the ones that attach it to the bike, 2 8mm allen bolts on the 2005).

Luckily, if you will, I started having trouble down-shifting and pulled over to see if there was anything I could do. Clack, clack, clack "What the heck? There's nothing for it to hit...I'll bet the trans is bugger...hey! whoa!". Up on to the center stand and finger tight (no 8mm in the tool kit), took it home and put blue lock-tite on both of them.

If that bolt had dropped before I pulled over, I'd be telling you all about how I dropped the bike instead.

Re: Kickstand Bolts

Hmmm...they should come with locktite from the factory. Mine did. Lucky you caught that!

Re: Kickstand Bolts

There appeared to be some old locktite in the threads, but I think the bolts had been taken out and put back in without new locktite.
