Moved to San Diego Today (Chula Vista)
I left at 8am on Wednesday morning, I got here at around 730pm today. I only got 30 min of sleep last night. Im wiped out after the long drive. I will tell ya about it tomorrow when im awake.

Feel free to lane split around here! Of course, we do it responsibly. As in other countries (but not other US states) riders here are not automatically treated as if they're children unable to take on personal responsibility in this department. I used to live in Mission Hills neighborhood in S.D. while a student at SDSU.

Chula Vista was the furthest south we drove in our Subaru Outback on a family vacation back in the mid 90's. We took the rapid transit train to the Mexican border and walked around Tijuana for an hour or two. Oh dear...what a horrible place. (Tijuana that is, not Chula Vista)
When we were checking into our Hotel 6 (we used Hotel 6 for our entire trip, very well organized by them), they were removing yellow police tape from around a couple of the units. Apparently, the previous night saw a drug raid had got a bit hotter than expected...one of the drug dealers threw a grenade, which bounced back into his room and exploded.  There were a few bullet holes in the doors and outside walls as well. I honestly thought we were going to be murdered in our beds that night.  Nothing of the sort happened, of course....but you know what nervous nellies us furriners can be, with our heads filled with Hollywood images of how harrowing life can be in America.  I really, really liked San Diego. I've been around and seen some wonderful things and places in my life, and If I had my time over again, that's where I would like to live. Good luck! |
