Nope. Just won't do it. I don't even like to think about it...call me chicken.

You folks have seen these at riders warehouse, right?

They used to sell another one that I bought. It reads: Ride like a knob and you will die.

Re: Double Yellows

Yes on spirited group rides when there's room for everyone in the group to safely pass. Solo riding never.

Re: Double Yellows

I just don't even think in doing it. They painted the double yellow for something, and it needs to be respected; also you would expect for others to respect it when you are the one being passed.

Re: Double Yellows

As already noted somewhere above, there's usually a good reason for double-yellow. But having said that...

In NH, they put down striped yellow whenever it made sense. I love riding in NH. Whenever you feel like you want to pass, lo and behold, there's stripes!

In PA, they only put down stripes if there's 100 miles before and after of straight flat road and the road crew happened to be tired of the monotony of painting solid lines that day. It's infuriating tailing grandpa at 5 under on a straight road with a mile of visibility and those damned double yellow lines mocking you. On the upside, drivers in PA are maniac speed demons, so I'm usually more concerned about keeping ahead of the guy behind me than spending quality time reading bumper stickers.

In any case, I pass. Often. Stripes or not. And I'm not ashamed of it.
