Close call..omg

I almost dropped my bike today.. I was at a gas station and was turning a little too sharp and going real slow and I guess I lost my balance and I was going down..thank god I walk 8 miles a day at work cause I was able to catch it and get upright..some of you might know that feeling you get when your heart hits the sole of your feet...omg..I hate that feeling...

It's a great feeling to have a close call and avoid disaster though, well done.

Well, when you eventually dump your bike like most of us members have, you can post it in the thread that has been specifically created for these type of incidents. "The Hall of Shame"

Re: Close call..omg

I did the exact same thing (almost dropped at a gas station going very slow) on my first bike, which was 100 pounds lighter. Had it been the FZ6, it would have gone down. I too was going about 1 mph, and making a sharp turn down a curb ramp onto the road. The combination of a downward move and the sharp turn totally got me unbalanced, but I caught it. That specific incident is why I'm in favor of noobs buying lightweight beginner bikes and then move to a heavier bike once you've had a chance to either catch the lighter bike or get the experience of dropping behind you so next time it won't happen on the more expensive device.

Re: Close call..omg

I know the feeling...lol.Was lubing my chain the other day and Aussie bikes don't come with a center stand any more so I'm squatting down and moving the bike along a bit at a time and I hit a patch of Auto trans fluid my brothers car had dropped and slipped. My left knee hit the side stand and put it up as the bike fell towards me. Caught it sort of lying on the driveway, holding one grip and the grab rail, with my head pushing against the seat...Phew that was close....lol. My bike's not going down without me on it....lol.
Cheers
Mike

Been-there-done-that!
All I could do to keep it from going down - got frame sliders immediately after that!
