Exhaust mod question

So I'm going to do the exhaust mod the 3/4 inch holes on each pipe If I don't like it I'll consider new pips my question is if you drill the pips doesn't that cause emission problems and in any state do bikes require smog checks like cars Im a new rider just curious thanks

Re: Exhaust mod question

From what I've seen the hole method does not always yield good results, but each to his own..

As far as emissions laws, if any State had one for bikes yours would be it check with your local DMV.. Good luck.

By the way they are "pipes" not pips

Re: Exhaust mod question

I had this mod done professionally, sound was a lot better, and the bike breathed about 40% better, almost as well as a set of aftermarket pipes.

Some people have not had such great results.

There are a couple of threads in here that go through the varied methods of doing this, and the varied results...should be easy enough to find using the sites search function.

Here's at least one of those threads.

http://www.fz6-forum.com/forum/fz6-g...47-inside.html (inside)

I now have Two Brothers pipes, which sound a thousand times better.

As for emissions, i am sure it changes them, but you should be fine, i dont think it will get you in trouble, unless of course, the road transport people in your state, perform regular compulsory emissions check's.
