exhaust paint
firstly, thanks to all for making my decision to buy the fz6 much much easier.
I will be getting an 08 in BLACK. I was wondering if anyone has tried painting headers to make them blend better with the engine. I have seen a pic of a bike with jet hot treatment in black but seems kind of pricey. any info would be great. thanx to all! |

gotta be REAL careful with that kind of stuff. exhaust in general runs at super high temps, not many (if any?) paints can handle that. some powdercoating might, but like you said, would be super expensive. unless you find an exhaust already that way, I wouldn't try anything yourself.

VHT makes a header paint rated to 2000 deg.
It's called VHT Header - Ceramic Coating or similar. Works pretty good as long as you cure it properly. Comes in a range of colours. |
