Front Turn Signals

So I had this idea for the front turnsignals, I did a quick search and didn't find anything.

On the US models we have those empty holes where there European models have those amber lights. Well I was wondering if anyone has turned those into the their front turn signals?

My father is a parts manager at a Yamaha shop and I pretty sure he could get ahold of the wiring harness and connectors for those lights, it would just be a matter of hooking the turnsignal wires up to it.

Anyone tried this? Would you even be able to see the lights blinking with the head lights on?

Just did that mod a week ago and I love it. You can definitely see them with the lights on. Not too difficult to do either, just time consuming. I got mine from fendereliminators.net/sport bike creations. It says FZ1 but works perfectly on my FZ6. Hope this helps!

Yep use the same sockets that come out of your old signals.
modify the hole till they fit.

Do you still run some small flushies or something at the stock mount, or just use the ones in the headlights?

You can buy filler plates that can go over the holes left by the removed turn signals. That "teardrop" shape is a standard size for Yamaha.

My POD lights arn't signals and I used Watsen LED Flushies for my signals:

Maybe the '07 is different, but my stock front signals weren't mounted through holes in the faring. They just hung down on small L-brackets that were mounted up behind the faring.

I just undid two screws each on the L-brackets, chopped the wires running to the stock signals, and ran the wires up to the holes I drilled in the upper corners of the headlight housing. Those attached to the leads coming off the new LED signals. Soldered the wires together and covered them in heat-shrink. Screwed the LEDs (+some glue to seal) into the new headlight-housing holes and voila!

Mine look just like Moe's. Pictures by request!

the fairing on the 04-06 is bigger and hangs lower on the bike, covering the top of the radiator.

Ahhh, I see now. Just checked out an '04 pic online and it looks totally different from mine. Disregard everything I said!
