Re: Advantages of Double Bubble
I love bringing back old threads to life again!!
![]() I got the Puig Touring screen in smoke the other day, I have yet to test it out on the motorway at high speeds but I guarantee that I will give my verdict on it. From a beauty point of view, this screen is superb, it doesn't take away from the look of the bike and it most certainly is not too big. Its a good 3 inches or more taller then the stock and the double bubble means I can finally keep behind the screen clean from dirt...the stock one was too close to get my hand down between it to clean the remainder of the bike fairing!! For those interested I can take a photo this weekend and post it up.

Re: Advantages of Double Bubble
We have pretty much only seen the sport version of the Puig. Do post pics of the Touring version.
Cheers.

Re: Advantages of Double Bubble
Mine (the early 04 model Puig double bubble) made a huge difference and especially at speeds above 90mph. At 6'2" the biggest problem I had was helmet buffet at speed with the factory screen. I changed helmets to a different shape and this helped some. When I went to the Puig (it's shorter than the factory screen) I noticed the difference both upright and in the tuck. The helmet that used to buffet so bad now works fine. It's the best $70 I've spent so far.

So the bubble allows you to deflect a good amount of wind, without having to install a larger, less-sporty screen. |

![]() It looks very much like the racing screen of course, just that bit higher. It really does suit the bike and I found tucking behind the screen while driving was just amazing...i have never been able to hear the amazing hum of my engine before at 80mph but today was the day I heard every possible noise when behind the screen. I was slightly disappointed with the screen, I had expected it to throw all the wind past my head but it does tend to move the majority of air from my throat to the top of my helmet (where my air inlets are). When relaxing behind the screen (either looking slightly over or though the screen) it is just glorious! There simply is no other way to explain it!!!I bought my screen from a German company after the US company I was dealing with firstly allowed me to order the screen and then told me they didn't actually stock it!!!! I'll never deal with them again. At least I can trust the Germans to get it right first time! Sorry..bitter feelings from my first US transaction.

Re: Advantages of Double Bubble
Ok, forgive me that its taken me so long to put up these images...i've also included a shot of the manifold nuts that i reported before to be rusting on my 9 month old bike...just to see if its as bad as I think. O and please excuse the dirt...i drive many many miles and its a dirty country (O and I'm too lazy to wash it for the moment!!) If anyone wants any more images I've managed to photo every single part of my bike....

Re: Advantages of Double Bubble
Sweet! Well I think I'm convinced I'm going to get a touring instead of a racing Puig. I might get clear though.
