I Love my new Grip Puppies.

Sorry about starting another thread, someone else was looking for thicker/more vib-absorbing grips and Grip Puppies came up several times, but I can't find that original thread anymore.
Ordered a set, they came in a few days, $8 or so. They looked kinda thin to me, and after measuring I realized they had the same Outside Diameter as my current grips! Decided I'd bother with them later, but then when I was moving them off the table a skinny slip of paper fell out of one of them, the instructions! (I almost missed them).
They're not supposed to replace your current grips, they go over them, that's the point I missed. I took off my Throttlemeister bar ends, wiped the insides with soapy water, and slid them on with minimal effort and no tools (did get a blister out of it ).
Next to my M-4 cans, this is probably my favorite mod! I have XXXL hands, and the larger diameter is great! Also, since the rubber is very "grippy", I think I won't have to squeeze my hands together so much when I switch back to my slick winter gloves. I'm a happy camper!

good heads up about the "Over" the old grips install, i have been toying with the idea of these, but want to hear about how well they hold up, it would get annoying if they stared disintegrating all over the place...

Re: I Love my new Grip Puppies.

I bought a set a month ago and they are very cool! But be careful because they do tear easily. I don't really know how it happened but I noticed a tear on the left side about 1/2 long so I had to trim off that corner a bit so it does't tear anymore. But for 8 dollars and change, I think they are worth it... I did't read the instructions, I just assumed they go over the existing grips ")

This is the EXACT reason I've had a set of these for over a year and haven't installed them. I worry about whether they'll just disintegrate over the course of the next few months. And it's not the cost of replacing them that I'm worried about, since they're cheap. I just know that every time I've taken them out of the envelope they came in they leave black specs all over my hands and that's just from handling them. I can't imagine what they'll look like after about a month's use.

I'd love to hear from some people that have had a set on their bikes for a while on how they hold up. Wavex, I'm pretty sure you have a set...what say you?

I thought about that too, I figured absolutely worst case, I'd get tired of them and slice them off, out $8. Or, I may have to replace them every time I, say, change my tires.
For the extra comfort they're providing me right now, it'll be worth it!

Re: I Love my new Grip Puppies.

I have asked every shop here in adelaide and no one has ever heard of them, as far as i can see there is only one place in the states that do them, and they want around $30 postage to get to here.

Yeah, Grip Puppies are great. In combo with padded palm gloves, even better. These guys carry um.

Re: I Love my new Grip Puppies.

Love mine, on for about a month or two, but not a ton of miles ridden with them, my bike doesn't see rain, and is in my garage when home, so I suppose the $8 with free shipping was worth it. It does take a little getting used to them, they feel huge compared to the stock grips.
