Brake Light / Front Lever

A co-worker of mine asked me if I would know what corrective measures would need to be taken on a front brake light on his R-1. Apparently, the brake light stays on unless he presses the front brake lever all the way forward. So any suggestions?

Thanks,

Might be a sticky cable; good excuse to buy a cable luber (new tool, w00t!) and give that a shot.

Agreed DI. The light is staying triggered by false pressure on the switch pintle which may be generated by an out of adjustment lever. The pintle opens (cutting the voltage) when the lever is pushed forward away from the switch.

Re: Brake Light / Front Lever

just like these guys have said, he has to adjust the switch to trigger disengage at a further out point.

Shouldn't the brake lever return to the furthest point out by itself?

Not that I would know but would there be a spring in there? maybe it got smooshed and needs to be stretched out.
