So does anyone know if the orange can is ok? From the sounds of it just about anything that's O-ring safe should work, just want to make sure. Otherwise i'll just swing by the local bike shop and pick something up.

Anything that says O-Ring safe should be fine. It really comes down to personal preference. You may like one better than the other because it flings less crap or because it becomes transparent after applying, or because it's opaque and you can visibly see the coverage/loss daily.

The key is to keep it clean and lubed unless you want to buy new sets prematurely.

I've used Maxima Chain Lube for a long time. I have 22,500 on my current chain and looks like it will make it to 30k and beyond.
