Torques values

Hi there,

have over thousand miles now on the bike and need to do first service. we changed oil and filter today and that was easy.
Now I am looking at hundreds of bolts and hex screw head screws on each side of bike. Service is calling for bolts torquing. That is fine, bought torque wrench in Home Depot. But what is a best place to find torque values?

Thanks, bye
Zack

Re: Torques values

Service Manual. And don't use torque wrench on the oil filter and drain bolt. Many people have cracked their engine covers trying to torque the drain bolt. Trick is to hand tighten and some more using a simple wrench upto a 1/4th turn.

Re: Torque values

I found one "how to change oil" on the forum and it called for some 30 lbs torque on the oil plug. That is what I did. It might be too much because I had hard time removing the bolt. I'll go back to garage to loose it a bit.
As for other bolts there are at least 50-80 of the all over the place. It will not be easy to find data about all of them. I guess I have to download manual.

Re: Torques values

When in doubt, there is always standard torque:

The reasons I am against torquing the drain bolt are:
