They might do both, but since the displays are way different, it is definitely not the same function to toggle it. I'm so used to my 08 that whenever I see a pre 07 display I get lost.

Actualy, we (2005 at least) have the air intake temp, and a water temp gauge.

i like to play with the air temp setting and just for giggles see how my bike runs at different air temps...so far i can't tell any difference...
