Instrument cluster naked warning

Hey guys and gals, dont know if this has been mentioned or not, cant find in any search. Wolfman told me to check my cluster and see if the clutch cable was wearing through it, it was. All of you with nakeds might want to check the bottom of your cluster, because this is suppose to be a common problem.

Re: Instrument cluster naked warning

Wolfman was saying that he saw a bunch of them at yam world that worn through, they then get moisture in them and they are buggered. And i reckon its probably only on the old cluster, but i dont know.

It does on the 04-06 round cluster, have got the scrapes on mine to prove it...nearly through before we moved the cable...and have seen a box of about 4 clusters all with gaping holes, looks like Yamaha were onto this issue by the time they got to making the 07-08 FZ6n's.

Re: Instrument cluster naked warning

I thought you were gonna say the display would warn me if I was naked.

My clutch cable has a very small amount of rubbing, but nothing major (yet). I check out all the cables and bolts every few thousand km's.
