Dumb bell

OK I have had a Brain fart. I will try to post photographic evidence, so that my peers may judge me with all of the facts. I have just been to Ireland for two weeks holiday. Prior to going I was just making sure that my garage was secure ect. I was just walking my bike out of the garage and I caught the hem of my trousers on the pedal of my cycle. I had that awful moment when you over balance and for a brief moment you still think you got it. I didn’t still got it and I dropped my bike. Now this in itself is not such a big thing however, only a few weeks previously I was joking at the expense of some of the other rider’s misfortunes, and posted a reply stating that my bike was still a “minter”. I also manage to land the bike on a set of dumbbells that I cant be arsed to use so I now have a nice dent in the petrol tank.

I think I will tell on my Wife. My wife and I were on our motorcycles guiding/ leading about 80 bicycle riders on a city sponsored bicycle race through town. There were two motorcycle cops assisting us. About halfway through the course the lead cop unexpectedly turned and stopped his police motorcycle in the middle of the road. His police partner almost hit him and had to swerve to the left into the ditch to avoid a crash. I was in a position where I could easily swerve to the right around him and stay on the road. He knew he had messed up by the look on his face as his partner and I maneuvered to miss him. Unfortunately, when he did this unwise stop, my Wife was looking back at the bicycle riders to check their distance and position. When she looked forward she was headed to T-bone this cop. To the right of him was me, to the left of him was the other cop. I have never seen her stop and control her bike so well! She had no problem keeping her bike straight and managed to get her speed down to about three or four mph before her front tire hit his rear tire broadside. She told me later that she figured rubber hitting rubber would be best. She knocked him down, balanced for a moment, then fell over her self. We all picked up both cycles and she took off to get back in front of the bicycle riders to guide them. The cop kept saying over and over that he was sorry and that he couldn't believe that either bike had no damage, not even a scratch. This happened two years ago. I still like to tell people that my wife has been in only one motorcycle accident and that was when she hit a cop!!!

btw- We don't participate in that bicycle run anymore. We came to the conclusion that there were too many distractions and hazards to us and we have found other safer community projects to help with. You know, like filling up balloons at the city carnival!! LOL

Dumber bell cont...

Hey everyone, here are the pics of my new tank mod (aka "The dent"). I have been quoted £150.00 for a repair. Does anyone know where I can get the Yamaha decals from?

I guess I can come up with one.

This did not happen on my FZ but on my DRZ400.

It had been raining lightly earlier on the morning when I got hungry for some breakfast on a Saturday morning. I did what is my usual custom and went to a local diner for ham and eggs with toast. Apparently the parking lot had been freshly sealed prior to the rainy season. I got on the bike forgetting that knobby tires don't grip wet pavement and took off. I got a round the corner of a planter when I hit a slick spot and did a perfect spin with the rear tire orbiting the front. After a full circuit the bike laid itself over sending me sliding across the wet pavement and breaking my clutch lever in the process, and bruising my ego pretty good as I had an audience, who of course didn't want to get wet, leaving me to pick up myself, my pride, and my bike.

Having no way home but to ride the bike, I disabled the clutch safety switch and press the starter while running like a duck with the seat under me, the DRZ being a rather tall bike. I never realized just how many stop signs and traffic signals there are in that 3 mile stretch. Every time I stopped I had to use the starter to get going again. Thankfully the battery held out until I got home.

I guess there is my entry.

Damnit Perry that sucks man. Your the only one in the running since the rest are not recent.

I am sad to say I dont know where to get the decals. I am forcing myself to leave my decals on until it gets good and cold here. I will have to have something to do.

I bet the tank will look better with out them. If they are going to paint and repair the tank, it probley wont be much more to get the side pods to match.

That is one of my winter projects this year too.

Holy crap! Thats a lot more damage than I thought perryn. You've got my vote if no one else can top you. Sorry about your bike. Not only does your bike have charisma & style but it's also very unique now.

I know mate, who would have thought. That 400lbs of motorcycle being held by a skinny aresd brit. Could have so much damage caused by landing on 60 kilos of steel dumbell.
amazing.
