Re: 2009 FZ6RC Dragons Tail Meet
I was planning to go back under the original thread but then it died off and so did my interest. Once this thread started back up I started following it and you all would occasionally get my interest back up but I would take a deep breath and close the thread. Well with the trip now less than a month away you jackasses with your enthusiam peaked my interest enough for me to enter negoations with the wife. Her response was "I will worry when you are riding down by yourself but once you get there you will be with a bunch of good people." Then she told me to go because "It would be good for me". She rides as well but I have out paced her since I rode year round so she will not be coming.
Anyway a few days ago I paid for my spot and now I am getting a little giddy. I don't know exactly what my plans are yet because there may be a trip to Atlanta beforehand but I will be there at least Thurs, Fri, and Sat night. I would love to take the class on Thursday but I don't know if I will be able to swing the cost as the trip necessitated some new purchases. New boots, new pinlock dark smoke insert, Scala rider Q2 headsets (for phone/gps/mp3 use and one for normal riding with the wife), an SAE plug to cigarette plug adapter, and a cigartte charger for my phone (which I will attempt to use as my gps). Luckily I have saddlebags already and I think I have a large backpack that I can make work as a tailbag. So I am looking forward to meeting everyone who is going and getting some more riding experience with some more expereinced riders. Right now my rider resume mainly consists of about 6,000 commuter miles in DC area since August and I would very much like to expand on that this year. Plus it doesn't matter if I am going 2 blocks I am always afraid I will get lost... succesfully finding a house in the middle of no where on my own should go a long way to cure me of that. So what is left for me to do while I count the days and get more nervous about accidentally ending up on a boat crossing the pacific ocean? 1) build and test the $5 camera mount and digitial camera's video settings and then decide if I need to bring the laptop 2) find the standard deviation for how long it takes someone to notice you are wearing the same clothes and pack accordingly 3) a little maintenance and maybe some light maintenance 4) put some more miles on the bike

Yes, I'm trailering up on Thursday. You're welcome to come along if you don't like riding interstates.

All the beds are spoken for guys.
Scott & Elisha (tour guide and wife) have requested the fold out couch, so that is taken by them. Still cots, couches and recliners left though. |

Re: 2009 FZ6RC Dragons Tail Meet
ok guy now the tough question! What beer do we all drink? Of course this is addressed to those of us old enough to drink!
I prefer: Coors light MGD 64 MGD Anything ![]() Liquor? Wine? If anyone wants something let me know. I know everyone doesn't drink, but for those that would like a couple beers after a days riding let me know what you drink. Just so everyone knows the purchase of alachol will NOT be coming from the group funds. I don't want to piss anyone off with that so I thought I would note that. Anyone who would like something can chip in a few bucks and we're set. Last edited by ant_mb; 05-07-2009 at 07:05 PM. |

DOMINIC TRAILER UP WITH JIM its worth it. Its the smart thing to do. Interstate is boring and tiresome, you will just arrive sore, tired, and more likely to get in a bad spot. Well rested is the way to go. JMHO though. Steve |
