advice for a newb........

what tips or suggestions does everyone have for a semi-experienced rider who has never ridden with a passenger?

a little background: rode many a dirtbike in my younger days, had an enduro (73 honda cl350) that i drove to high school, rode a different bikes that friends had ('06 busa, '05 katana, '98 gsxr6) now the g/f wants to ride because she sees how much i enjoy it and she wants to ruin my fun.

Only advise i have is to remember that it changes the center of gravity and there is a lot more weight on there. the bike will react slower and stop harder. Also make sure they understand the basics of the bike and that they don't jerk around and lean the wrong way and such.

sounds like a good deal then, like i said, just be sure that you are ready for the "sluggish" feel in the corners and while stopping.

i am assuming you would want to adjust the rear suspension to its stiffest setting. or would i want to keep a little "cush" in there?

Adjust it up.

I like to go and practice in a parking lot, its a safe controlled place to test braking, and leaning with a passenger.

Tell her to use the grab rails...you won't even know she is there. One palm up and one palm down and she won't fall off the back or fall into you. Having a top case or sissy bar on there really helps too.

Total weight? Depending on the weight, 5, 6, or 7....7 is not always best.
